We all want to think that we have the courage to drop everything to follow Jesus when he calls us by name. Some of us actually experience the chance of reaching out and stepping on the water with him as he tells us not to be afraid. Resigning from a job that provided for your family, with nothing much than a couple thousand dollars to your name, equates to that moment. The storm around you, the outside influences whether political, health, family opinions, and the negative job market are all legitimate concerns to second guess stepping out of the boat. They are the winds that distract us from looking at Jesus, and yet, somehow I made it through that moment.
